Ahoy -

As introductions seem to be de rigueur around here, I'll introduce myself.

I'm probably more of a strength geek than a strength athlete. Though I compete in powerlifting (raw & DT), play around with aspects of the other strength sports in my training, & dream of competing in strongman, my greatest strength as a strength athlete is the mental acumen I apply to training lore, science, & theory. I long to be strong in comparison to the likes of Milo readers and not just in comparison to average people, but I'm only about four years down a very long road.

By profession I'm a teacher (high school social studies). I train at Bodytribe Fitness (http://physicalsubculture.com/) in Sacramento, and dread the day that circumstances draw me away from that welcoming sanctuary of strength.

Through I've been vacillating around the world of IronMind for years - and reading Milo non-stop for two of those - I didn't leap at joining the forums until I had need to, through them, solicit the advice of experienced stonelifters in the face of a potential trip to Britain. And now I'm off to write that post...

Welcome Zac and I hope you enjoy the Forum. Good to have another stonelifter on board.
