so i'll start of with the basic info...

I'm 18 years old, my weight is around 11.5 stone. My job is the same as my brother's (i.e. porter for a removals company. My brother being Benedict Morrissey).

Originally I started strength training/bodybuilding in order to gain mass and strength having been fairly skinny and weak (which has now lead to several joint problems). Up until recently I was focused on gaining strength and losing fat, which I have achieved as I have dropped nearly a stone (used to be around 12-12.5 stone) and have seen big improvements in my lifts, enough that I have asked my parents for a barbell with 100kg of weights to start with and move on from there.

However in the last 3/4 months I have become involved in grip strength, as I see it as the most overlooked form of strength in bodybuilding and in general view of the public (despite most superhuman like strength feats requiring incredible levels of hand strength)

I have only two days ago undergone surgery on my right wrist to repair some big damage that would have been avoided had I found the CoC grippers and hand strength tools sooner. The hand specialist believed I had torn my ulnar tendon (sheath included) from all ligaments in my wrist, causing free movement over my ulnar bone and significant inflammation and pain in some movements (especially strict form curls).

After I first went to the doctor, my brother had purchased a number 1.5, which I was unable to close to start with. I soon purchased one and 2 weeks later I was closing it with little difficulty on my right hand. 2 weeks after that I could close it on my right hand with a TNS and managed to close it on my left. Soon after I purchased the number 2.

During this time I damaged my hands again in a different way and was forced to stop using the grippers. About a month later I was having a read of the ironmind catalogue and saw the expand-your-hand bands, whilst I did not purchase those I knew I had something similar. I only used it under the premise 'prevents hand injuries'. Sure enough the pain went.

At my strongest point (a day before my operation) I was TNS closing a number 2 for 2-3 reps on my right, TNS closing a 1.5 for 10 reps, and I was around 1.5cm (certainly past parallel) on a 2.5. These are obviously nothing incredible, but it is at least a good base from which I can aim for the number 3.

However I cant use my hand for at least 2 weeks, and when I do I will be doing light sets of the 1.5 maybe lower for rehab.

I am very interested in grip strength and have posted a couple of articles on the subject in a bodybuilding forum I use, purely to help others who either have hand issues or want to gain strength on their lifts.

My reason for coming here is simple, to learn from the best in the field of hand/body strength. So that I can become bigger, stronger, healthier and most importantly get certified on the number 3 gripper, if not higher :)

P.S sorry if I bored anyone with my life story :;dk)
