Default 62.5lb. on the new Ironmind Hub (57.5lb. in plates)

Zach Jacobs of Dallas, TX lifting 62.5lb. (57.5lb. in plates) on the new Ironmind hub. This was only his second time ever to try hub lifting. For the lift to be counted as good does he need to control the descent?

    Sweet!

I've no idea on the rules, but nice pull nonetheless.

Up 5 pounds in 11 days? I wonder at what point he's going to plateau?

I take it he's your brother? Must be the genes.

Anyone have any ideas on what the human body is capable of (in regards to this particular lift)?

I certainly think 100lbs is doable, though it would probably take some combination of the right genes and the right training.

Well, I don't understand why everyone has snubbed me on the 'hub lift' thread and not given me an answer as to what the heaviest weight lifted on the new IM hub is. I'd like to have a solid answer on this so Zach has something to shoot for. He broke 60lb. (in plates) off the ground a few inches today. I understand that every pound makes a world of difference in this lift but he most certainly will break the 62lb. (in plates) barrier. If anyone else knows of a weight heavier than 62lb. in plates lifted on the new implement, I would like to know.

Very strong lifting on the IM Hub! I haven't had a chance to lift on the new one yet but I doubt I'd be breaking the 50lb mark so that's pretty impressive. Depends on the style used I guess, since I am very strong on the "outlawed" vbar-style. Not so much on the standardized claw-style. I'm always more impressed with the claw style though since it's my weak point.

Anyway, there are guys pulling some pretty stout poundages. Not sure why they are keeping it to themselves, unless they just aren't interested in "competing" in a thread with someone and want to put it on the line in a contest setting. I will keep the numbers I've heard to myself just because if the two guys I know that are really pouring effort into the new IM Hub want to let everyone know I guess they will in due time. They're both competitors in grip contests so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. They're both aware the numbers are extremely competitive though.

    Excellent lift Zach!

It would definitely have to be controlled on the way down to count as "good" in a contest setting.

    Default Hub rules/Mike's $

Hmm . . . sound to me like Zach is going to get Mike's money!

Here are the rules IronMind uses on the Hub—everything is probably what you'd expect and, yes, you can't just drop the lift at the top and have it count:

70lbs is just a pit stop Randall.
The most difficult and most productive part of grip training...the time between workouts. -me
