    June 2nd 2015 was the date of the Trim Haymaking festival in Trim, Meath. An Anglo-Norman town with a massive walled castle in the historical area where the worlds first Olympic type games were held.

    In the Porchfields of the castle 14 competitors were whittled down and a record was broken in the late afternoon. Michael O'Brien from County Clare bested his own record of 62' 3'' with an 8 pound sheaf. Here's a video and a link to a Flickr account with some pics.

    62'+ is insane. I didn't even know guys threw sheafs that light.

      6lbs is the starter. 8lbs is the official weight for that event. One guy there was throwing 8lbs since he was 12, he's now near sixty. Think he threw 54' last year.
