These events are better once again than the US Arnold. The log here should be max; instead they let Z try to break the record a day after doing 451 x 4. No way does a guy recover from a contest that heavy featuring a log for reps and be able to break his record on Sunday. It's just silly. Steve Slater can very easily put loading pins on the Austrian Oak.

A few thoughts:

Hafthor's 190 log looked extremely smooth. He was painfully close to recording a rep with the big log a couple weeks ago in Ohio. Glad to see his pressing progressing so well.

Looks like age is catching Z. By all accounts he was still tired from Ohio and was favoring his back on the heavy log attempts. I know he wants to break his log record again, but doing this contest may have been a bad idea for him if he wants any shot at winning WSM this year. 40yr old men do not recover like 25yr old men no matter how many pharmaceuticals one may be on.

Radz recorded what I believe is the biggest log lift by anyone other than Z in history. After a series of unfortunate injuries, the Polish successor to Mariusz appears to be back in peak form.
